How do I upload photos and videos from the camera to my computer (Windows)?
Uploading Your Photos and Videos to a Third-Party Device (Windows OS)
Ready to take your captured memories from your 1990\retro to your Windows computer? The process is super simple with USB-C connectivity and your MicroSD card. We promise. Just follow these steps to upload your memories in no time!
What You’ll Need:
01 Your 1990\retro
02 A laptop or PC running a Windows Operating System
03 USB-C cable (included with your camera)
04 MicroSD card (already in your camera)
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Power On Your 1990\retro
First, turn on your camera to make sure it’s ready to transfer your files.
2. Connect via USB-C
Plug one end of the USB-C cable into your camcorder and the other end into your Windows computer. Once connected, your computer should automatically recognize the camera’s MicroSD card as an external storage device.
3. Find the Device
On your Windows laptop, open File Explorer. You should see your camcorder’s MicroSD card appear as a removable drive, just like a USB flash drive. It will typically be listed under "This PC", and is natively labeled "USB Drive."
4. Access Your Files
Double-click the removable drive to open it. Inside, you’ll find two folders: one labeled “PHOTOS” containing your photographs, and another labeled “VIDEOS” containing your video recordings. They are already sorted by type or date.
IMPORTANT(!): It is not recommended to change the 1990\retro’s MicroSD folder names where your photos and videos are saved. Doing so may result in unexpected behavior, such as your camera not being unable to properly process and save your media. It is always best practice to leave files and folders that undergo significant read/write access unaltered and in their default file creation state.
5. Select and Copy
To upload your photos and videos, simply select the files or folders you want to transfer. You can do this by clicking on individual files or using Ctrl + A to select everything. Then, right-click and choose Copy, or use Ctrl + C.
6. Paste to Your Laptop
Navigate to the folder on your laptop where you want to save your files—like "Pictures" or "Videos." Right-click in the folder and select Paste, or use Ctrl + V. Your files will begin transferring from the camera to your laptop. Once this copy procedure has started, it is important to not disconnect or tamper with the USB-C cable. Interrupting the connection could result in data-loss or corruption.
7. Eject Safely
Once the transfer is complete, don’t forget to safely eject the device. Click on the USB icon in your system tray (lower-right corner of your screen), select the camera’s MicroSD card, and choose Eject. This ensures your files are safely saved and nothing gets corrupted.
8. Disconnect Your Camera:
After ejecting, unplug the USB-C cable from both your camcorder and laptop.
That’s it! With these easy steps, your favorite moments are now safely uploaded and ready to be shared, edited, or backed up. Good luck out there...we miss you already💔😭
